Bat Count – June 9

When: Mon, June 9, 2025 from 8:45 pm – 10:45 pm Where: Minnekhada Regional Park, Coquitlam, BC Contact: Minnekhada Coordinator Contact Email: coordinator@minnekhada.ca Open Volunteer Spots: 1

Bat counts are easy, fun, safe, and vital for monitoring bat populations. Join us at sunset at Minnekhada Park to count bats. We will meet in the parking lot at Quarry Road and then proceed to the count location. Bring a camp chair and some warm clothing as the temperature can change as the sun goes down. During some months, mosquito repellant is also suggested. Volunteers will be issued a counter, and will count the bats as they exit the location. A lovely way to spend an evening. This may be suitable for older children (teens) if they are able to sit for over an hour and concentrate on counting!
